One of the largest Foothills producers in North America
Cavvy’s assets stretch from Southern Foothills near Waterton all the way up to Sierra/Ekwan in Northeast British Columbia. We work with our neighbours to be strong, reliable operators – supporting employment and local economies, and maintaining safe operations.
Waterton
Our Southern Alberta area spans roughly 120,000 gross acres, including our Waterton Deep Cut Sour Gas Processing Facility. The plant has both upstream and midstream profitability and a licensed capacity of 180mmcf/d, with production from three main fields: Waterton, Carbondale and Burmis.
We are a major employer in the Waterton area, with the plant and wells in service since 1962, over 60 years.
Jumping Pound
Spanning roughly 92,000 gross acres just west of Calgary, Alberta, our Jumping Pound Gas plant has a licenced capacity of 125 mmcf/d. Production comes from two main fields: Jumping Pound and Moose Mountain.
The plant has been operating since 1951, for over 70 years. It led the way in understanding sour gas and became the first sulphur plant in the world, with its sulphur unit beginning production in 1952.
Caroline
Built on top of a carbonate reef buildup and spanning roughly 203,600 gross acres, our Caroline gas plant has a licenced capacity of 195 mmcf/d, with production coming from 3 main fields: Caroline, Harmattan and Garrington.
Established in 1993, the plant boasts a 95 per cent recovery of the original gas in the reservoir. The Caroline Gas Plant’s gathering infrastructure is ideally situated to provide a preferred gas processing choice for third-party producers desiring competitive processing. Our extensive infrastructure reach, excess capacity, deep-cut NGL recovery, and competitive and improving cost structure create a unique opportunity to accommodate existing production and further growth from both large and small producers.
Northern Alberta
Our Northern Alberta assets span roughly 253,000 gross acres from just west of Edson to the Ojay property that straddles the border of Alberta and British Columbia. The Northern Alberta assets produce a mix of sweet and sour gas, which flows to non-operated gas plants at Narraway British Columbia and Edson, Alberta.
We also partner with businesses in the area to provide sweet gas for power generation.
Northeast British Columbia
Our Northeast British Columbia assets span roughly 98,800 gross acres in the Sierra/Ekwan area. While these are not core assets, they do provide some production.
The Ekwan assets can only be reached by ice roads in the winter and helicopter in the summer.
